HEINZ NAMES ANNUAL SUPPLIERS OF THE YEAR

PITTSBURGH — July, 2009 — Heinz North America honored 125 of its suppliers at the 6th Annual Heinz Supplier Symposium held in Pittsburgh. Ten of those companies were named “Suppliers of the Year” in recognition for their service as outstanding business partners: Alcan Packaging Thermaplate, All Lines Technology, Bassett Mechanical, Cramer-Krasselt, Graham Packaging, Leahy Orchards, Nationwide Better Health, Promotion Execution Partners, Quality Sausage Company and Towers Perrin.

“These 10 organizations have been valuable partners to Heinz, having demonstrated a commitment to improving our business results while providing excellent customer-centric service,” said Chris Stockwell, Heinz Vice President of Procurement. “Our supplier partner relationships are a fundamental part of our business’s success and we thank each of our partners for their service.”

The annual Heinz North America Supplier Symposium brings together the company’s preferred suppliers to discuss upcoming business initiatives as well as recognize the winners of the “Supplier of the Year” award. The winners are nominated by Heinz employees and then chosen by the Heinz Procurement team and the executive leadership team based on the pillars of the Procurement Pyramid: Business Alignment, Service, Quality, Growth and Innovation, Cost and Cash. This year’s winners were selected from more than 5,000 suppliers.
